Adult Education Committee  

The Adult Education Committee organizes the Scholar-in-Residence programs, and works with the Rabbi to develop classes and discussion groups on special topics. The committee also assists the Rabbi on Friday night programming and with Interfaith programs.

Banquet Committee  

The Banquet Committee oversees the rental of the Temple facility, the panel of caterers, and the maintenance of equipment and supplies.

Budget Committee  

The Budget Committee works closely with the Financial Secretary, Treasurer  and Executive Committee to develop the budget for the forthcoming fiscal year which is presented to the congregation for approval in May.  The Budget Committee is also involved in evaluating the financial requirements of new  temple programming.

Building and Grounds Committee  

The Building and Grounds Committee is concerned with the care, maintenance, and improvement of our Temple building and property.

Caring Committee  

The Caring Committee provides support for Temple members in their time of need.  General outreach to Temple members.

Fundraising Committee  

The Fundraising Committee is vital to the health and well-being of the temple. It is charged with raising money for the special and on-going needs of the temple. Members are needed to join the Fund Raising Team Effort.  We especially need your creative ideas and input to make the decisions that will increase revenue for the Temple as well as providing Temple members and their children with wonderful, fun-filled and important activities. We are looking forward to including NEW members in our efforts. We immediately need assistance with COMEDY CABARET NIGHT on June 12th, 2010 and OUR THIRD ANNUAL YARD SALE which begins directly after Mitzvah Day.  We will take whatever time you can give us.  Big time committments are not necessary. Membership Committee  

The Membership Committee is the life blood of the Temple and is charged with the recruitment, integration and retention of members. To this end, the committee is involved with arranging and developing advertising campaigns, creating membership packets, staffing new member meet & greets, and partnering with new members as they experience temple membership.  Whatever your skill set, the membership committee needs you.

Mitzvah Team  

The Mitzvah Team does good deeds for people in the temple and in our community at large. It meets about every other month and welcomes input from all temple members.  If you have a mitzvah that needs doing, or would like to be part of performing a mitzvah, contact Lee Launer.

Our projects have included:

 - donating time and money to the Glen Cove Youth Board

 - arranging rides to services for members who can't drive

 - providing back packs for Glen Cove school children

 - collecting mittens and hats for FEGS

 - visiting and donating to Winthrop Children's Cancer Center & St. Christopher Ottille.

 - providing meals to a Glen Cove family in need

 - providing meals to a temple member after a car accident 

 - reading to developmentally challenged children at Variety Child Learning Center in Syosset.

Public Relations  

 The Public Relations Committee works with the local media to disseminate Temple news.

Religious Practices/ Ritual Committee  

The Religious Practices Committee works with the Rabbi and the Cantor to develop ritual, programs for creative services, special services and holiday celebrations. It distributes honors and encourages participations in all religious activities at the temple.

Religious School Board  

The Religious School Board Committee operates as a school board for the religious school. With the Rabbi and School Principal, the committee helps set policies and requirements for B'nei Mitzvah and Confirmation. The committee assists in the registration of students and works with the Rabbi, Cantor, and School Principal on all school matters.

Synaplex  

The Synaplex Committee organizes our Friday Night Shabbat programs for adults and youth to enhance our Shabbat experiences.

Youth Group  

The Youth Group Committee helps develop Junior and Senior Youth Group programs and works with the youngsters themselves, while making appropriate arrangements for these activities, and developing congregational support for the Youth Group.
