Relay for LIfe

In the past few years many NCRT members have taken part in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life which honors cancer victims while raising money to find a cure. Temple member Andrew Fierstein has captained his team LiveStrong to great success and many temple members have been a part of that. This year, with Andrew's support and blessing, and the help of our temple youth group, NCRT is sponsoring our own team, LiveStrong*NCRT. Our mission is to help the American Cancer Society, while raising our temple's profile within the community.  Together we can accomplish great things.

For those of you who have not been to a Relay, it is a wonderful community event.  In the spirit of tzedekah, it is mostly social with a little exercise and some truly touching moments.  We hope you will be a part of it in whatever way you can.

Ways to help.

Before the relay

- Join team LiveStrong*NCRT by clicking here.   There is a $20 fee to join. When you raise (or donate) an additional minimum of $30 you will receive a Relay for Life Shirt.

- Donate to another temple member at the website, by clicking here.

- Buy a luminaria in honor of, or in memory of someone you love who has been affected by cancer. Click here to buy a luminaria.

(If you want to help, but don't want to do it by computer, contact Kerry Fierstein, 516-656-3051.)

- Come to the LiveStrong*NCRT table on Mitzvah Day May 16th and purchase luminaria or make a donation.

At the Relay on May 22nd - there is no charge. You do not need to be registered and you don't need to stay all night.

- Stop by the NCRT tent and get an NCRT sticker.  Wear it and show the North Shore community that you are a proud NCRT member.

- Sit at the NCRT tent and interact with people on the community. (Contact Lisa Schubach to volunteer.)

- Attend the survivor's dinner (for info call Kerry Fierstein 516-656-3051, or e-mail her at LiveStrong2007@optonline.net.

- Walk the survivor's lap, or the caregiver's lap, or just walk in support of finding a cure.
